The hearing went better than expected. We had an attorney from HSLDA appear for us, and we didn't have to even speak in front of the judge/referree--which was a relief for both of us, but especially Paul--lol!!! I'd like to thank everyone who was there for us--whether in person or thought--and we really appreciate it--thanks!!! I know-I'm a week late in posting this update from the hearing--lol!!! The other good news is that our vacation is back on schedule--we're leaving this weekend--woohoo!!! Yay!!! I'll be busy this coming week, househunting, going to the beach, getting our VA loan started--and hopefully getting the house we need. Gotta run for now--but thanks again everyone!!! Well, our vacation has been put off indefinitely--and I am too upset at the moment to even think clearly--mostly angry with the intermediate school district for their accusation of truancy--because my 13 year old son is homeschooled, I have done a lot of research in the laws in our state and am not at all in violation of any of the laws-regardless of which exemption used. But, the intermediate school district needs a refresher in the laws of the state, and a reminder in court on tuesday. I have contacted the HSLDA (home school legal defense association, my membership is almost completely finalized with them--it's been approved, at least) and missed the phone call of one of the legal team members earlier today--pure exhaustion and my cell phone being turned off inadvertantly--grrrr!!!!! I hope that he calls me back this weekend, this is pretty important to me, and I accidentally turned off my cell phone--lots of bad words are going through my mind at the moment---lol!!! Well, I know that this is a frivolous charge against us, and hopefully will be able to prove so in court--it's just a preliminary hearing--but still it is irritating. I need to get going, I'm trying to destress--and dwelling on the problem isn't going to help that situation.

My husband was in the Army, he's now a civilian contractor working in Iraq, what he does there I really don't know, I just know that he isn't one of the contractors that is working there under the guise of 'rebuilding' Iraq, what he does is in complete support of the troops . He'll be home in June (they pushed back his return date again--lol) I promised my friend Fiona that I wouldn't join here until I had done some cleaning, organizing and packing for our upcoming trip--so here I am--lol! Anyway--I guess there are a lot of things I do that someone would find interesting--housewife is not what I call myself--stay-at-home mom is closer to the truth--but I prefer writer, artist, pagan--not always in that order, either--as well as full-time mom. I've been meaning to get to work on writing more than just a journal. I really should follow the rules and write in that journal everyday-but I do write daily, I just don't always consider it 'writing' lol!!! I need to get back, I will post a lot more here in the future--but I'm not going to hold myself to that, either--lol!!!
